Driftwood

Driftwood – A Poem

My blood is bound to water
The sea salt’s in my veins
My drifting bones bleach under sun
Hoping to find a place to rest
Until the next violent tempest

Two Ocean Themed Poems

Continuing the forgotten poems series, these two poems are from sometime between 2000 – 2005. I’m leaving these open to interpretation, though I’m sure teenage angst is a fair assessment. Let me know if they struck a chord for you and, if so, what if was in the comments 🙂

The Rock And The Sea

The rock is crying
Can’t you hear?
The sea plays way too rough
He’s been asking
for the sea
To please kindly stop

Staring At The Water

on the dock
tears mix with stars
passing lights
of passing cars
ripples move
across the sea
why won’t it
just swallow me?

Thank you for taking the time to read these today! Have you ever found any of your old writing? What did you think of it? What do you think of this one? I’d love to hear in the comments!

If you’d like to see more of my forgotten poetry, please like, comment, and/or share this post. It helps me know what content my readers are most interested in seeing, so I can better know what to share here.
